Summary:To provide a technique to prevent the occurrence of moire, granularity, and the like due to overlapping of dots in a plurality of colors, in forming an image on a recording medium by using the dots in the plurality of colors.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus receives input of a plurality of pieces of multi-valued data corresponding to a plurality of coloring materials, quantizes each of the plurality of pieces of multi-valued data, and generates a plurality of pieces of quantized data indicating recording or non-recording of dots in a recording medium with each of the plurality of coloring materials.
