Summary:To provide a black stainless steel material excellent in processability, capable of preventing a base from being exposed when processed and excellent in corrosion resistance even when partially exposing the base when processed.SOLUTION: A black stainless steel material includes an oxide film on the surface of a base. The base has a composition of, by mass, C:0.100% or less, Si:1.00% or less, Mn:0.05 to 1.00%, P:0.100% or less, S:0.100% or less, Cr:16.00-25.00%, Ni:1.00% or less, Cu: 1.00% or less, Mo:2.00% or less, N:0.100% or less, Ti: 0.08-0.50% and the remainders consisting of Fe and impurities and has an average crystal grain size of 100 μm or less. The oxide film has a carrier density of 2.00×1020 pieces/cm3 or less, a lightness index L*of 50.0 or less in a L*a*b*color system and a chromanetics index a*and b*of ±5.00 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】加工性に優れ、加工時に素地が露出し難く、加工時に素地が部分的に露出しても耐食性が良好な黒色ステンレス鋼材を提供する。【解決手段】素地の表面に酸化皮膜を有する黒色ステンレス鋼材である。素地は、質量基準で、C:0.100%以下、Si:1.00%以下、Mn:0.05~1.00%、P:0.100%以下、S:0.100%以下、Cr:16.00~25.00%、Ni:1.00%以下、Cu:1.00%以下、Mo:2.00%以下、N:0.100%以下、Ti:0.08~0.50%を含み、残部がFe及び不純物である組成を有し、且つ平均結晶粒径が100μm以下である。酸化皮膜は、キャリア密度が2.00×1020個/cm3以下、L*a*b*表色系における明度指数L*が50.0以下、クロマネチックス指数a*及びb*が±5.00以内である。【選択図】なし
