To provide an age estimation system and an age estimation method with high efficiency and high reliability.SOLUTION: An age estimation system 500 consists of a customer terminal 100, a service company terminal 200, and a server 300. The customer terminal 100 photographs a picture of an identification document 115 and a picture of the face of a customer 110. The server 300 extracts the picture of the face on a certificate and the date of birth from the picture of the identification document 115, determines if the picture of the identification document 115 and the picture of the face of the customer 110 show the same person, when determining that the pictures show the same person, estimates the age of the customer 110 from the picture of the face of the customer 110, compares the estimated age of the customer 110 with the age calculated from the date of birth, and when the difference between the ages is less than a predetermined value, estimates the age calculated from the date of birth as the age of the customer 110.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】高効率で高信頼性の年齢推定システムおよび年齢推定方法を提供する。【解決手段】顧客端末１００とサービス会社端末２００とサーバー３００とから構成される年齢推定システム５００であって、顧客端末１００は、本人確認書類１１５の写真と顧客１１０の顔写真とを撮影し、サーバー３００は、本人確認書類１１５の写真から、券面顔写真と生年月日とを抽出し、本人確認書類１１５の写真と顧客１１０の顔写真とが同一人物のものであるかどうかを判定し、さらに、同一人物のものであると判定された場合に、顧客１１０の顔写真から顧客１１０の年齢を推定し、推定した顧客１１０の年齢と、生年月日から計算した年齢とを比較し、年齢の差が所定の値未満である場合に、生年月日から計算した年齢を顧客１１０の年齢と推定する。【選択図】図５
