To provide a brake device which can improve vehicle mountability by suppressing a vertical direction dimension increase when mounted in a vehicle.SOLUTION: A brake device includes: a master cylinder which has a piston provided in a master cylinder housing; a stroke simulator which is provided with a reaction piston to be operated by brake fluid flowing into a stroke simulator housing; and a reservoir tank which can supply brake fluid to the master cylinder and is provided with a replenishment port for replenishing brake fluid. The piston in the master cylinder housing and the reaction piston in the stroke simulator housing are not mutually and coaxially provided. A main chamber which is partitioned by the stroke simulator housing and is provided to be closer to an operation direction side in which the reaction piston is operated by brake fluid than the reaction piston is arranged so as not to mutually overlap the reservoir tank except the replenishment port in the reservoir tank when viewed from a vehicle vertical direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17 【課題】車両搭載時の上下方向の寸法増大抑制による車両搭載性向上を図ることができるブレーキ装置を提供すること。【解決手段】ブレーキ装置は、マスタシリンダハウジングの内部にピストンが設けられたマスタシリンダと、ストロークシミュレータハウジングの内部に流入したブレーキ液により作動する反力ピストンが設けられたストロークシミュレータと、マスタシリンダへブレーキ液を供給可能であり、ブレーキ液を補給する補給口を備えたリザーバタンクと、を備え、マスタシリンダハウジングのピストンとストロークシミュレータハウジングの反力ピストンは互いに同軸に設けられず、ストロークシミュレータハウジングに画成され、反力ピストンよりもブレーキ液により反力ピストンが作動する作動方向側に設けられる主室は、リザーバタンクのうち補給口を除くリザーバタンクと車両上下方向から見たとき互いに重なり合わないように配置される。【選択図】図１７
