To lighten the load of a data processing device while enabling communication to be performed with a first apparatus.SOLUTION: A data processing device according to the present invention has a processing unit for performing predetermined processing that is disposed between a first and a second apparatus that perform data communication. The data processing device comprises a first transmission/reception unit, a second transmission/reception unit, a MAC address setting unit, and a first determination unit. The MAC address setting unit sets the same MAC address as for the first apparatus to the second transmission/reception unit, and sets the same MAC address as for the second apparatus to the first transmission/reception unit.
