To provide a manufacturing method in which a thermoplastic prepreg can be manufactured in a shorter time than before while suppressing generation of void in the thermoplastic prepreg.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing thermoplastic prepreg includes: process (1) of preparing a thermoplastic resin film, a long fiber substrate and polar solvent; process (2) of impregnating the polar solvent into the thermoplastic resin film; process (3) of preparing a laminate formed of the long fiber substrate and the thermoplastic resin film in which the polar solvent is impregnated; process (4) of heating and pressurizing the laminate in a mold; process (5) of opening/closing the mold during the process (4) or after the process (4) to remove at least a part of the polar solvent from the laminate; and process (6) of cooling the laminate after the process (5).SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】熱可塑性プリプレグでのボイドの発生を抑制しながら、従来よりも短い時間で熱可塑性プリプレグを製造することができる製造方法を提供すること。【解決手段】熱可塑性樹脂フィルム、長繊維基材および極性溶媒を準備する工程（１）と、前記熱可塑性樹脂フィルムに前記極性溶媒を含浸させる工程（２）と、前記長繊維基材と、前記極性溶媒が含浸されている前記熱可塑性樹脂フィルムとの積層体を準備する工程（３）と、金型内で前記積層体を加熱および加圧する工程（４）と、前記工程（４）中または前記工程（４）の後に、前記金型を開閉して前記積層体から前記極性溶媒の少なくとも一部を除去する工程（５）と、前記工程（５）の後の前記積層体を冷却する工程（６）とを含む、熱可塑性プリプレグの製造方法【選択図】なし
