To provide an oscillator and an amplifier capable of obtaining stimulated emission light or amplified spontaneous emission light with low excitation intensity using an aluminum nitride single crystal.SOLUTION: An oscillator or an amplifier that has an excitation light source and a gain medium, the gain medium is aluminum nitride single crystal, and stimulated emission light or amplified spontaneous emission light can be obtained with low excitation intensity by irradiating the gain medium with excitation light from the excitation light source with a photon energy of 6.0 eV or more and 8 MW/cm2 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】窒化アルミニウム単結晶体を用いて誘導放出光又は増幅された自然放出光を低い励起強度で得ることができる発振器、増幅器を提供する。【解決手段】励起光源及び利得媒質を有する発振器又は増幅器であって、利得媒質が窒化アルミニウム単結晶体であり、励起光源からの光子エネルギが６．０ｅＶ以上、８ＭＷ／ｃｍ２以下の励起光の利得媒質への照射を行うことで、誘導放出光又は増幅された自然放出光を低い励起強度で得ることができる。【選択図】図１
