Summary:To provide a technique capable of predicting a residual life of a tool even when a working condition is changed.SOLUTION: A tool life prediction device includes: a signal acquisition part for acquiring an output signal from a sensor for detecting a physical quantity generated by bringing each of a plurality of blades into contact with workpiece cut by rotation of a tool having the plurality of blades; a self-correlation coefficient calculation part for calculating a self-correlation coefficient of the output signal; a variation degree calculation part for calculating a variation degree between a plurality of partial waveforms which constitute the waveforms of the self-correlation coefficient and correspond to the plurality of blades; and a residual life prediction part for predicting the residual line of the tool, on the basis of an index of the variation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】加工条件が変更されても工具の残寿命を予測可能な技術を提供する。【解決手段】工具寿命予測装置は、複数の刃を有する工具の回転により切削加工を施される工作物に複数の刃のそれぞれが接触することで生じる物理量を検出するセンサからの出力信号を取得する信号取得部と、出力信号の自己相関係数を算出する自己相関係数算出部と、自己相関係数の波形を構成する複数の部分波形であって、複数の刃に対応する複数の部分波形同士のばらつき度合いを算出するばらつき度合い算出部と、ばらつきを指数に基づいて、工具の残寿命を予測する残寿命予測部と、を備える。【選択図】図1
