To provide a display panel having a structure for preventing moisture from being transmitted via an open, and an electrochemical device containing them.SOLUTION: A display panel comprises: a substrate having a front surface, a rear surface, and an open penetrated to the rear surface from the front surface; a light emission diode arranged to a display region surrounding the open; a sealing layer; a first group of a non-display region defined to the substrate between the display region and the open; a second group of the non-display region separated from the first group; and a separation wall that is arranged between the first group and the second group of the non-display region. The substrate contains: a first base layer; a first barrier layer; a second base layer; and a second barrier layer in this order. The first group includes a concave-like shape recessed to the second barrier layer and the second base layer. The second barrier layer includes a first tip part projected toward the first group so as to over a first ground point where a side surface of the second base layer and a bottom surface of the second barrier layer are matched.
