Summary: | To provide a pillar-shaped honeycomb structure having a partition wall structure suitable for both light weight and high strength.SOLUTION: There is provided a pillar-shaped honeycomb structure including an outer peripheral side wall, and a plurality of partition walls disposed on an inner peripheral side of the outer peripheral side wall, the plurality of partition walls partitioning a plurality of cells forming flow paths from a first end surface to a second end surface, wherein an average pore diameter of the partition walls measured by a mercury porosimeter is 3 to 10 μm, and when a cross section of the plurality of partition walls is observed with an X-ray microscope and porosities (%) of each partition wall is measured in a thickness direction from one surface to the other surface of each partition wall, an average porosity of each partition wall is 40 to 70%, and a difference between a maximum value and a minimum value of the porosity of each partition wall is 11% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
【課題】軽量化と高強度の両立に適した隔壁構造を有する柱状ハニカム構造体を提供する。【解決手段】外周側壁と、外周側壁の内周側に配設され、第一底面から第二底面まで流路を形成する複数のセルを区画する複数の隔壁とを備えた柱状ハニカム構造体であって、水銀ポロシメータにより測定される隔壁の平均細孔径が3~10μmであり、前記複数の隔壁の断面をX線顕微鏡にて観察し、各隔壁について一方の表面から他方の表面まで厚み方向に気孔率(%)を計測すると、各隔壁の平均気孔率が40~70%であり、各隔壁における気孔率の最大値及び最小値の差が11%以下である柱状ハニカム構造体。【選択図】図6 |
