To provide a rope capable of preventing rigidity from being lost.SOLUTION: A rope is constituted by twisting or combining a plurality of strands 2 whose cross-sectional shapes in a radial direction are constituted to be substantially the same in whole area in a lengthwise direction. The strand 2 is constituted by twisting or combining a plurality of first yarns A formed of monofilament yarn and second yarns B formed of multifilament yarn. The first yarn A is more rigid than the second yarn B. The second yarn has lower elongation than the first yarn.
