Summary: | To provide a light detecting device that, with respect to a pixel that includes an inter-pixel separating portion of a conductive material, enables connection to ground without using special processing.SOLUTION: A light detecting device includes: a substrate portion that includes a pixel region in which a plurality of pixels capable of generating charge in accordance with externally entered light are arrayed in a matrix, and a peripheral region different from the pixel region. Each of the plurality of pixels is provided with a plurality of inter-pixel separating portions that define an outer edge of the pixel and are formed so as to extend from a light entry surface of the substrate portion to a surface thereof opposite the light entry surface, the inter-pixel separating portions insulating and blocking light between adjacent pixels. At least some of the plurality of inter-pixel separating portions are formed so as to extend to the peripheral region. The peripheral region is provided with a ground portion that is connectable to the inter-pixel separating portions and that are for applying a predetermined voltage to the pixels via the inter-pixel separating portions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
