Summary:To provide coating material imparting high corrosion resistance to steel material, and coated steel material having high corrosion resistance, furthermore steel material having high corrosion resistance.SOLUTION: Coated steel material obtained by using coating material of the present invention comprises steel material and a coating film formed on the surface of the steel material, the coating film includes powder and a binder, and the powder includes sodium carbonate and/or potassium carbonate and at least one oxide and/or hydroxide of an alkaline earth metal, and a mass of the contained powder is 10 times or less of the mass of the contained binder, and a thickness of the coating film is 5 to 300 μm. In the above-mentioned coated steel material, the coating film may contain at least one metal selected from the group consisting of zinc and zinc alloy. Further, steel material constituting the coated steel material may contain at least 3 mass% or less of at least one element selected from alkaline earth metals. Steel materials containing these elements exhibit a certain level of good corrosion resistance even without coating by forming a coating film on the surface.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】鋼材に高い防食性を与える塗料および高い耐食性を有する被覆鋼材、さらには高い耐食性を有する鋼材を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】本発明の塗料を用いた被覆鋼材は、鋼材と、該鋼材の表面上に形成された塗膜と、を備え、前記塗膜は、粉体と、結着剤と、を含み、前記粉体は、炭酸ナトリウム及び/または炭酸カリウムと、アルカリ土類金属の少なくとも1種の酸化物及び/または水酸化物を含み、含有される前記粉体の質量が、含有される前記結着剤の質量の10倍以下であり、前記塗膜の厚みが5~300μmである。上記被覆鋼材において、前記塗膜は、亜鉛及び亜鉛合金からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の金属を含むことができる。また、上記被覆鋼材を構成する鋼材には、3質量%以下のアルカリ土類金属から選択される少なくとも1種の元素を含有することができる。それらの元素を含有する鋼材は、表面に塗膜を形成させ被覆を施さなくても一定の良好な耐食性を示すものである。【選択図】なし
