To provide an image forming apparatus that has a higher convenience than a prior art in that the image forming apparatus displays, to a user, a confirmation screen for paper settings at an appropriate timing according to the user's usage state.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a paper tray; a paper detection sensor that detects that paper is set on the paper tray; a display unit; and a control unit. When the paper detection sensor detects paper on the paper tray, the control unit determines whether to display a confirmation screen for paper settings on the display unit, when a predetermined confirmation unnecessary condition is met, does not display the confirmation screen on the display unit, and when the confirmation unnecessary condition is not met, displays the confirmation screen on the display unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】ユーザーの使用状況に応じて適切なタイミングで用紙設定の確認画面をユーザーに表示させることで、従来よりも利便性が高い画像形成装置を提供する。【解決手段】用紙トレイ、前記用紙トレイに用紙がセットされたことを検知する用紙検知センサ、表示部および制御部を備え、前記制御部は、前記用紙検知センサが前記用紙トレイに用紙を検知したとき、用紙設定の確認画面を前記表示部に表示させるべきか否かを判定し、予め定められた確認不要条件に該当する場合は、前記確認画面を前記表示部に表示させず、前記確認不要条件に該当しない場合は、前記確認画面を前記表示部に表示させることを特徴とする画像形成装置。【選択図】図６
