Summary:To provide a vibration damping structure for buildings in which V-shaped or inverted V-shaped braces spanning two or more floors are placed on both front and back sides of the column-beam frame, shifting them for each floor, in which when applied to a building having a plurality of floors including a specific floor with a higher floor height than other general floors, the damping effect of braces is sufficiently exerted on each floor.SOLUTION: The vibration damping structure for buildings includes a general brace 10A spanning two or more general floors 1A and 1B, and a specific brace 10B spanning two or more general floors 1B and a specific floor 1C. Each of both ends 11b of the general brace 10A is connected to a column-beam joint 4 in the column-beam frame of the general floors 1A and 1B. The brace member 11 constituting the specific brace 10B has approximately the same length as that constituting the general brace 10A. Each of both ends 11b of the specific brace 10B is connected to an intermediate position of the column 2 in the column-beam frame of the specific floor 1C. At the specific floor 1C, a connecting member 15 is provided that connects each of both ends 11b of the specific brace 10B.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】2以上の階層に亘るV形又は逆V形のブレースを柱梁架構の前後両側に階層毎にずらしながら配置した建物の制振構造において、他の一般階層よりも階高が大きい特定階層を含む複数の階層を有する建物に適用する場合に、ブレースによる制振効果を各階層において十分に発揮させる。【解決手段】2以上の一般階層1A,1Bに亘る一般ブレース10Aと2以上の一般階層1B及び特定階層1Cに亘る特定ブレース10Bとを備え、一般ブレース10Aの両端部11bの夫々が一般階層1A,1Bの柱梁架構における柱梁仕口部4に接続され、特定ブレース10Bを構成するブレース部材11が一般ブレース10Aを構成するものと略同じ長さのものであり、特定ブレース10Bの両端部11bの夫々が特定階層1Cの柱梁架構における柱2の中間位置に接続され、特定階層1Cにおいて特定ブレース10Bの両端部11bの夫々を連結する連結部材15が設けられている。【選択図】図1
