To reliably regulate a position where a separation member approaches an endless belt.SOLUTION: A nip forming unit comprises: a flexible endless belt (fixing belt 20); a nip forming member (heater 22) that can be in contact with an inner peripheral surface of the endless belt; a pressure member (pressure roller 21) that is in pressure contact with the nip forming member with the endless belt therebetween to form a nip; and a housing that supports a belt unit having the endless belt and nip forming member and the pressure member, and the nip forming unit conveys a body to be conveyed (sheet P) through the nip. The nip forming unit comprises a separation member (separation plate 310) that separates the body to be conveyed passing through the nip from the endless belt, and the separation member is disposed to be allowed to approach and separate away from the endless belt.
