Summary:To provide a root crop harvester which properly distinguishes a defective such as a split of a tip of a carrot and is miniaturized in order to solve such problems that, in a conventional carrot harvester which automatically distinguishes a defective by a rougher and discharges the defective to the outside by a conveyance device for defective, detection of a split or the like of a tip of a carrot has been impossible since the defective is automatically distinguished by the rougher based on the outer diameter of the carrot, also, the structure is large since there is need to install the conveyance device only for the defective and a foliage cutter.SOLUTION: A non-defective cutting part 41 and a defective cutting part 42 for cutting a foliage portion in the root crop conveyance direction are provided in series in a foliage cutting unit D. A control device distinguishes a non-defective from a defective of root crops based on an image captured by a camera provided on the front side in the root crop conveyance direction of the non-defective cutting part 41. A cutting blade 41e of the non-defective cutting part 41 provided on the front side in the root crop conveyance direction are switched between the cutting action position for cutting a foliage portion and the retreat position depending on the non-defective or defective.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11 【課題】従来、不良品を粗選機によって自動判別して不良品専用の搬送装置にて機外排出する人参収穫機がある。然しながら、不良品の判別を粗選機による人参の外径にて自動判別しており、人参の先端部の先割れ等は検出が不可能であった。また不良品のみの専用の搬送装置と茎葉切断装置を設ける必要があり、構成が大型であった。そこで、人参の先端部の先割れ等の不良品を適切に判別し、また、小型化した根菜類収穫機を提供する。【解決手段】茎葉切断部Dに根菜類搬送方向に茎葉部を切断する良品切断部41と不良品切断部42を直列に設け、制御装置が、良品切断部41の根菜類搬送方向前側に設けたカメラにて撮像した画像にて根菜類の良品と不良品を判別し、根菜類搬送方向前側に設けた良品切断部41の切断刃41eを良品または不良品に応じて茎葉部を切断する切断作用位置と退避位置に切り換える。【選択図】図11
