Summary:To allow identification of individual target objects with high accuracy even when the plurality of target objects approach and partially overlap each other in an image.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus creates a map of likelihood values indicating the likelihood of the presence of a target object from an image, and acquires a candidate position where the target object is present based on the map. The information processing apparatus determines whether a plurality of target objects belong to the acquired candidate position, and divides the candidate position determined to have the plurality of target objects belonging thereto into plurality.
