Summary: | To provide a manufacturing method of optical element capable of inhibiting leak light of an optical element including a lens and a light blocking layer located on a lens peripheral edge and at least covering part of a curved surface of the lens, and a photosensitive composition usable for a manufacturing method of the optical element.SOLUTION: There is provided a manufacturing method of an optical element which includes a lens and a light blocking layer located on a lens peripheral edge and at least covering part of a curved surface of the lens. The method includes: applying a photosensitive composition on the curved surface of the lens to form a coating film; positionally and selectively exposing a site on the coating film where the light blocking layer is formed; developing the exposed coating film; and heating and curing the developed coating film. Examples used as the photosensitive composition include: a photosensitive composition containing alkali-soluble resin, photopolymerizable monomer, photoinitiator, light blocking agent and organic solvent, having specific thixotropy index and viscosity; or a photosensitive composition containing alkali-soluble resin, photo polymerizable monomer, photoinitiator, light blocking agent, thickener and organic solvent.SELECTED DRAWING: None
