Summary:To improve ship maneuverability when making a ship shift to ad hoc turning mode.SOLUTION: A maneuvering system of a ship 1 comprises a steering device 14 with a wheel part 19 capable of performing a rotating operation, and a controller 40 to make the ship 1 shift to an ad hoc turning mode to turn the ship on the spot. A high friction area 33R (33L) increasing the resistance due to a rotating operation is set in a rotating operation direction and in an operable range of the wheel part 19.
