To provide a bearing device for a wheel which can prevent hardening crack by heat treatment without increasing a thickness of counter bore parts in an axial direction.SOLUTION: A bearing device 1 for a wheel has an inner side counter bore part 2h and an outer side counter bore part 2m which are respectively located adjacent to an inner side outer ring raceway surface 2c and an outer side outer ring raceway surface 2d and in which their inner peripheral surfaces protrude to a radial inner side relative to groove bottom diameters of the inner side outer ring raceway surface 2c and the outer side outer ring raceway surface 2d.
