Summary:To solve the problem in which, since PD signals that are two or more times larger are output from pupil division type focus detection pixels provided on the entire surface of an imaging area, the amount of data transferred from an imaging device to a control unit side of an imaging apparatus increases, thus a storage memory area on the imaging device side increases.SOLUTION: The imaging device includes: a pixel portion in which a plurality of pixels each including a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements is arranged; and an output control unit that adds signals from the photoelectric conversion elements in the pixel of a first region of the pixel portion and outputs them and outputs a signal from the photoelectric conversion element at each pixel in a second region of the pixel portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】撮像領域の全面に設けられた瞳分割型焦点検出用画素からは、2倍以上のPD信号が出力されるので、撮像素子から撮像装置の制御部側へ転送するデータ転送量が増え、撮像装置側の保存メモリエリアが増大する、という課題があった。【解決手段】撮像素子であって、複数の光電変換素子からなる画素が複数配置された画素部と、前記画素部の第1の領域の画素では前記画素内で光電変換素子からの信号を加算して出力し、前記画素部の第2の領域の画素では光電変換素子からの信号をそれぞれ出力する出力制御部とを備える。【選択図】図6
