Summary:To provide a water heater enabling sufficient sterilization of bath water.SOLUTION: A water heater 35 includes: a bath circulation pump 29 for circulating bath water in a bath circulation flow passage connected to a bathtub 30; UV generation means for irradiating the bath water flowing in the bath circulation flow passage with ultraviolet rays; a control section 36 controlling execution of a sterilization operation for circulating bath water in the bath circulation flow passage by using the bath circulation pump 29 and irradiating the bath water with ultraviolet rays by the UV generation means; and finish time setting means capable of setting finish time for finishing the sterilization operation. The control section 36 can selectively control execution of an intermittent operation mode of intermittently performing the sterilization operation and execution of a continuous operation mode of continuously performing the sterilization operation. The water heater 35 executes the sterilization operation in the intermittent operation mode from immediately after completion of hot water filling in the bathtub 30 to specified time that is time before the finish time only by a specified period, and executes the sterilization operation in the continuous operation mode from the specified time to the finish time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】浴水を十分に除菌することが可能な給湯装置を提供する。【解決手段】給湯装置３５は、浴槽３０に接続された風呂循環流路に浴水を循環させる風呂循環ポンプ２９と、風呂循環流路を流れる浴水に紫外線を照射するＵＶ発生手段と、風呂循環ポンプ２９により風呂循環流路に浴水を循環させてＵＶ発生手段により当該浴水に紫外線を照射する除菌運転、の実行を制御する制御部３６と、除菌運転を終了させるための終了時刻を設定可能な終了時刻設定手段と、を備える。制御部３６は、除菌運転を間欠的に行う間欠運転モードの実行と、除菌運転を連続的に行う連続運転モードの実行と、を選択的に制御可能である。給湯装置３５は、浴槽３０への湯張り完了直後から終了時刻の規定時間だけ前である規定時刻まで間欠運転モードでの除菌運転を実行し、当該規定時刻から終了時刻まで連続運転モードでの除菌運転を実行する。【選択図】図２
