【課題】インバータなどが不要で、エネルギーの変換効率も高く、プロペラの前後で発生する旋回流や円周方向で発生する無効水流等を低減して、推進効率の向上が図れるポッド型推進装置を提供する。【解決手段】ポッド1内の推進用電動モータ8によりプロペラ20を回転させて船舶を推進させるポッド型推進装置において、プロペラ20の回転軸に連結された羽根ピッチ可変用電動モータ5により、羽根ピッチ角を変更するための同期差動変速機6と、プロペラ20の外周に配されたダクト19とを有し、ダクト19内のプロペラ20より前方に、ダクト19に流れ込んだ水をプロペラ20の羽根ピッチ角に沿った流れに整流するダクト前部整流板18を配した。【選択図】図1 |
