To provide an operation method and an operation device of a mechanical parking device allowing a user to operate the mechanical parking device effectively and safely.SOLUTION: Provided is an operation method of a mechanical parking device 10 comprising an operation panel 3 allowing a user to operate opening/closing of an entrance door 21 of a loading-unloading room 2 where a vehicle C enters or leaves. The operation panel 3 comprises: an authentication device 31 for authorizing the user; and an operation button 32 for performing operations of the mechanical parking device 10.
