To enable authentication processing of a user terminal to be connected to a network even in the case that abnormality occurs in communication with a device for authentication.SOLUTION: A network system 1 has a second device 20 for authentication between a first device 10 for authentication and a user terminal 40. The second device 20 for authentication executes processing for receiving user information from the user terminal 40, and processing for communicating with the first device 10 for authentication to acquire a result of authentication success/failure based on the user information.
