Summary:To provide a tunnel excavator having a sediment sampling device for sampling excavated sediment at a position separated from a partition wall in a chamber, without affecting properties of the excavated sediment.SOLUTION: A partition wall 13 of a tunnel excavator 1 is provided with a sediment sampling device 100. The sediment sampling device 100 has: a first passage 21 having a first opening 21a at a tip end of a fixed blade 13a; a second passage 22 branched from the first passage 21 and having a second opening 22a at a rear part in an axial direction from the partition wall 13; a plug member 31 slidably provided in the first passage 21; a moving mechanism 32 for sliding the plug member 31 in the first passage 21 in such a way that at least a front end of the plug member 31 straddles a branching position P1 of the first passage 21 and the second passage 22; and a first on-off valve 41 provided on the first opening 21a side in relation to the branching position P1 in the first passage 21 and capable of opening/closing the first passage 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】チャンバ内において隔壁から離隔した位置の掘削土砂を当該掘削土砂の性状に変化を与えることなくサンプリングする。【解決手段】トンネル掘削機1の隔壁13には、土砂サンプリング装置100が設けられており、土砂サンプリング装置100は、固定翼13aの先端部に第1開口21aを有する第1流路21と、第1流路21から分岐し、隔壁13よりも軸方向後方に第2開口22aを有する第2流路22と、第1流路21内に摺動可能に設けられる栓部材31と、栓部材31を、栓部材31の少なくとも前端が第1流路21と第2流路22との分岐位置P1を跨ぐように、第1流路21内で摺動させる移動機構32と、第1流路21のうち分岐位置P1に対して第1開口21a側に設けられ、第1流路21を開閉可能な第1開閉弁41と、を有する。【選択図】図2
