Summary:To provide a distance measuring device and a distance measuring method that can improve the accuracy of distance measurement.SOLUTION: A distance measuring device 1 irradiates an object to be measured 2 with irradiation light from a light projection unit 6 and receives reflected light reflected from the object to be measured 2 with a light receiving unit 19. A transmission time calculation unit 13 determines transmission time Tsend of the irradiation light based on a start signal Sst and an irradiation synchronization signal Sa. A receiving time calculation unit 24 determines receiving time Trecv of the reflected light based on the start signal Sst and a light receiving synchronization signal Sb. A correction value calculation unit 30 calculates a correction value Tk used for correction of the receiving time Trecv based on the waveform of a light receiving signal Va.
