Summary:To provide a search system capable of calculating a distance to an underground unexcavated area outside of a shield excavator with high accuracy while easily handling any malfunction in a transceiver after a shield start, a shield excavator and a search method.SOLUTION: A search system 100 comprises a transceiver 101 mounted to the internal machine side of a steel member constituting a skin plate 21 or a bulkhead 22 at a front barrel 20 of a mud shield excavator 1 and sending a sound wave out of the machine and receiving a reflection wave reflected off the outside of the machine, and a PC 107 for calculating a distance to an underground loose part Xa on the basis of at least a received wave signal R at the transceiver 101, and the transceiver 101 sends a pulse wave at every predetermined frequency pitch as a sound wave successively in a predetermined frequency band.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】シールド発進後に、送受信器に不具合が発生しても容易に対処できるとともに、シールド掘削機の機外における地中の未掘削領域までの距離を精度よく算出できる探査システム、シールド掘削機及び探査方法を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】泥土圧式シールド掘削機1の前胴20においてスキンプレート21や隔壁22を構成する鋼製部材の機内側に取付けられ、機外に向けて音波を送信するとともに、機外で反射した反射波を受信する送受信器101と、送受信器101における少なくとも受信波信号Rに基づいて、地中における緩み部Xaまでの距離を演算するPC107とが設けられた探査システム100であって、送受信器101は、所定の周波数帯域において、所定の周波数ピッチ毎のパルス波を順次音波として送信する。【選択図】図1
