Summary:To provide technical means enabling further volume reduction of an amount of radioactive wastes.SOLUTION: A waste cable processing system comprises: a cable cutting device 1 for cutting a cable consisting of an internal material containing a copper material and a coating of the internal material, into a prescribed length; a surface cleaning device 2 for cleaning the surface of the cut cable; a first processing system 10 including a cable coating peeling device 11 for segregating the cable into the coating and the internal material and disposing the coating as a radioactive waste; a second processing system 20 including a chipping segregation device 21 for chipping a processing object into chips to segregate the chips into the copper material and other materials, and disposing the copper material from other materials, in a state of being segregated from each other; and a contamination discriminating/object carrying-out monitor 3 for discriminating presence/absence of contamination of contaminated cables, sorting the cables on the basis of, a discrimination result, supplying cables with contamination to the first processing system 10 and supplying cables without contamination to the second processing system 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】 放射性廃棄物の量のさらなる減容を可能にする技術的手段を提供する。【解決手段】 銅材を含む内蔵物とこの内蔵物の被覆とからなるケーブルを所定長に切断するケーブル切断装置１と、切断されたケーブルの表面を洗浄する表面洗浄装置２と、ケーブルを被覆と内蔵物に分別するケーブル被覆剥離装置１１を含み、被覆を放射性廃棄物として処分する第１処理システム１０と、処理対象物をチップ状に細断し、チップを銅材とその他の物質に分別するチップ化分別装置２１を含み、銅材とその他の物質を分別して処分する第２処理システム２０と、洗浄されたケーブルの汚染有無を判別し、判別結果に基づいてケーブルを仕分け、汚染のあるケーブルを第１処理システム１０に供給し、汚染のないケーブルを第２処理システム２０に供給する汚染判別・物品搬出モニタ３と、を有する。【選択図】図１
