To provide a recording device which can perform control of a recording head flexibly according to a scan speed of the recording head.SOLUTION: A recording device comprises: a recording head; scan means; signal acquisition means which acquires reference signals sequentially output according to a scan position of the recording head; acquisition means which acquires information about a set recording mode from the plurality of recording modes in which the scan speeds or the scan directions of the recording head are different from each other; and control means which controls time division driving of performing recording for one column with a plurality of discharge elements between a first reference signal and a second reference signal being the next reference signal of the first reference signal.
