Summary:To provide a method for constructing an earth retaining wall which can suppress deterioration in strength of an earth retaining wall constructed by further joining a steel sheet pile to an upper end of a pressed steel sheet pile.SOLUTION: A method for constructing an earth retaining wall sequentially executes: a first step of alternately pressing press-in side steel sheet pile units Ppu which are composed of first press-in side steel sheet piles Pp1, second press-in side steel sheet piles Pp2 having full lengths shorter than the first press-in side steel sheet piles Pp1, and temporary steel sheet piles Pr removably joined to the upper parts of the second press-in side steel sheet piles Pp2, and have the same full lengths of the second press-in side steel sheet piles Pp2 and the temporary steel sheet piles Pr as the first press-in side steel sheet piles Pp1, using a steel sheet pile press-in machine 10, so that the upper ends are aligned and the temporary steel sheet piles Pr are positioned on the ground; a second step of removing the temporary steel sheet piles Pr; and a third step of joining first joint side steel sheet piles Pj1 to the first press-in side steel sheet piles Pp1, and joining second joint side steel sheet piles Pj2 longer than the first joint side steel sheet piles Pj1 by a length of the temporary steel sheet pile to the second press-in side steel sheet piles Pp2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】圧入された鋼矢板の上端にさらに鋼矢板を接合して構築された土留め壁の強度低下を抑制できる土留め壁の構築方法を得る。【解決手段】第1の圧入側鋼矢板Pp1と、第1の圧入側鋼矢板Pp1よりも短い全長の第2の圧入側鋼矢板Pp2および第2の圧入側鋼矢板Pp2の上部に撤去可能に接合された仮設鋼矢板Prで構成されて第2の圧入側鋼矢板Pp2と仮設鋼矢板Prとで第1の圧入側鋼矢板Pp1と同じ全長となった圧入側鋼矢板ユニットPpuと、を上端が揃い且つ仮設鋼矢板Prが地上に位置するように鋼矢板圧入機10を用いて交互に圧入して並列設置する第1の工程と、仮設鋼矢板Prを撤去する第2の工程と、第1の継ぎ側鋼矢板Pj1を第1の圧入側鋼矢板Pp1に接合し、仮設鋼矢板Prの長さ分だけ第1の継ぎ側鋼矢板Pj1よりも長くなった第2の継ぎ側鋼矢板Pj2を第2の圧入側鋼矢板Pp2に接合する第3の工程とを順次実行する。【選択図】図4
