Summary:SOLUTION: A sensor element 12 comprises: an element body 15; connector electrodes 161, 162 which are provided at one end in the longitudinal direction, of the element body; a gas introduction port 80 which is provided at other than the one end of the element body; and an element protective layer 72 which covers at least one of the principal faces 151, 152 of the element body.
