To provide a pressure plate of a swash plate type hydraulic device capable of suppressing generation of large torque at an outermost peripheral edge portion.SOLUTION: A pressure plate of a swash plate type hydraulic device pressing a plurality of shoes toward a swash plate, includes: a pressure plate body that has a main surface on the swash plate side, and a back surface on an opposite side to the main surface; a plurality of insertion holes disposed at intervals in a circumferential direction on the pressure plate body; and an outer peripheral edge tapered portion that is formed at an outer peripheral edge on the back surface on the pressure plate body, and inclines so as to approach the main surface as the same advances outward in a diametrical direction.
