Summary:To prevent the deterioration of measurement accuracy while reducing the manufacturing cost of a gas sensor element.SOLUTION: A gas sensor element according to one aspect of the present invention comprises: a laminate which is constituted by laminating a plurality of solid electrolyte layers, each having oxygen ion conductivity, and which includes an internal space constituted so as to accept the gas to be measured from the outside, a first plane adjoining the internal space, and a second plane adjoining an external space; a first pump electrode provided to the first plane; a second pump electrode provided to the second plane; a first lead constituted on the first plane so as to extend from the first pump electrode; and a second lead constituted on the second plane so as to extend from the second pump electrode and electrically connecting to the first lead.
