To apply appropriate adjustment while avoiding an influence of a time required to specify a scene and start application of adjustment when performing image quality adjustment for each scene during video display.SOLUTION: A broadcast receiver includes a storage unit that associates and stores a scene type with a setting for adjusting image quality of the scene, and associates and stores a scene type that is likely to be displayed next with respect to the scene type, a current scene recognition unit that recognizes a type of the current scene that is the scene being displayed, a next scene prediction unit that predicts, with reference to the storage unit, a type of the next scene, which is the scene to be displayed next to the current scene, and a next scene setting preparation unit that prepares settings for adjusting image quality of the next scene by referring to the storage unit, and an adjustment executing unit that executes, at predetermined timing, the adjustment based on the settings prepared by the next scene setting preparation unit for the scene being displayed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13 【課題】映像の表示中にシーン毎の画質調整を行うにあたり、シーンの特定および調整の適用開始に要する時間の影響を回避して適切な調整を適用する。【解決手段】放送受信装置は、シーンの種類と前記シーンの画質の調整にかかる設定とを関連付けて記憶するとともに、シーンの種類に対して次に表示される可能性が高いシーンの種類を関連付けて記憶する記憶部と、表示中のシーンである現在シーンの種類を認識する現在シーン認識部と、前記現在シーンの次に表示されるシーンである次シーンの種類を、前記記憶部を参照して予測する次シーン予測部と、前記次シーンの画質の調整にかかる設定を、前記記憶部を参照して準備する次シーン用設定準備部と、表示中のシーンに対して、前記次シーン用設定準備部が準備した設定に基づく調整を、所定のタイミングで実行する調整実行部と、を備える。【選択図】図１３
