Summary:To provide a shift device excellent in durability and accuracy in assembling.SOLUTION: A cotter 4 is disposed between an inner peripheral portion of a retainer 3 fitted to an outer peripheral side of a cylindrical portion 2 and receiving a load and an outer peripheral portion of the cylindrical portion, a recessed portion 2a is disposed on the outer peripheral portion of the cylindrical portion, a projecting portion 4b is disposed on an inner peripheral portion of the cotter, an outer peripheral face of the cotter and an inner peripheral face of the retainer are formed into taper faces having different taper angles, an outer end face 4a facing the axial direction, is formed on an end portion having a small outer diameter of the cotter, an inner end face 3d axially opposed to the outer end face is formed on the retainer, further a minimum outer diameter of the taper-shaped outer peripheral face of the cotter is larger than a minimum inner diameter of the taper-shaped inner peripheral face of the retainer, and the inner end face is brought into contact with the outer end face by elastic deformation so that the minimum outer diameter is made equal to the minimum inner diameter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】耐久性や組み付け精度などに優れたシフト装置を提供する。【解決手段】円筒部2の外周側に嵌合させられて荷重を受けるリテーナ3の内周部と円筒部の外周部との間に、コッタ4が配置され、円筒部の外周部に凹部2aが設けられるとともに、コッタの内周部に凸部4bが設けられ、コッタの外周面とリテーナの内周面とがテーパ角の異なるテーパ面となっており、コッタにおける外径の小さい端部に軸線方向を向く外端面4aが形成されるとともに、外端面に軸線方向で対向する内端面3dがリテーナに形成され、さらにコッタのテーパ状の外周面の最小外径が、リテーナのテーパ状の内周面の最小内径よりも大きく、最小外径と最小内径とが等しくなる弾性変形が生じることにより、外端面に内端面が当接するように構成されている。【選択図】図1
