To provide an object recognition device capable of properly recognizing a shape of an object.SOLUTION: An object recognition device 10 is applied to a vehicle having object detection sensors 21, 22 for detecting an object. During traveling of a vehicle, the device acquires a plurality of detection points detected along an outer front surface of a target object as the detection points of the object detected by the object detection sensors, so as to recognize the target object based on the detection points. The object recognition device 10 performs: determining detection directions of the object detection sensors for each detection point detected along the outer front surface of the target object; identifying directions of the outer front surface of the target object based on the determined detection directions; and recognizing the target object based on the identified directions of the outer front surface of the target object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】物体の形状を適正に認識することができる物体認識装置を提供すること。【解決手段】物体認識装置１０は、物体を検出する物体検出センサ２１，２２を有する車両に適用され、車両の走行中において、物体検出センサにより検出された物体の検出点として、対象物体の外表面に沿って検出された複数の検出点を取得し、その複数の検出点に基づいて対象物体を認識する。物体認識装置１０は、対象物体の外表面に沿って検出された検出点ごとに物体検出センサの検出方向を判定し、判定された検出方向に基づいて、対象物体の外表面の向きを特定し、特定された対象物体の外表面の向きに基づいて、当該対象物体を認識する。【選択図】 図１
