Summary: | To provide a secondary battery capable of achieving high safety by suppressing gas generation.SOLUTION: A secondary battery according to an embodiment includes an electrode group and a resin portion. The electrode group includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a porous separator holding an aqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode current collector having a positive electrode tab portion, a positive electrode active material-containing layer supported on at least one surface of the positive electrode current collector, and an ion conductive layer. The negative electrode includes a negative electrode current collector having a negative electrode tab portion, and a negative electrode active material-containing layer supported on at least one surface of the negative electrode current collector. The positive electrode active material-containing layer is positioned within a space formed between the positive electrode current collector and the ion conductive layer. The electrode group is directly covered with the resin portion except for a portion of the positive electrode tab portion and a portion of the negative electrode tab portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
