Summary: | To provide an object detection device and an object detection method which can specify whether or not an object existing in the surroundings of a vehicle is a mobile object in a short time.SOLUTION: An object detection device 10 detects an object within ranges of detection areas Rfl, Rrl, Rfr, Rrr of a probing wave sensor 21 on the basis of detection results of the probing wave sensor 21 installed in an own vehicle Va as a "first object". The object detection device 10 detects the movement of a "second object" in target areas RL, RR on the basis of detection results of a periphery monitoring camera 22 which sequentially detects an object in the target areas RL, RR including the detection areas Rfl, Rrl, Rfr, Rrr of the probing wave sensor 21 as the "second object". 【課題】車両の周辺に存在する物体が移動物体か否かを短時間で特定可能な物体検知装置および物体検知方法を提供する。【解決手段】物体検知装置10は、自車両Vaに設置された探査波センサ21の検出結果に基づいて探査波センサ21の検知エリアRfl、Rrl、Rfr、Rrrの範囲内の物体を"第1の物体"として検出する。物体検知装置10は、探査波センサ21の検知エリアRfl、Rrl、Rfr、Rrrを含む対象エリアRL、RRにある物体を"第2の物体"として逐次検知する周辺監視カメラ22の検知結果を基に対象エリアRL、RRでの"第2の物体"の移動を検出する。そして、物体検知装置10は、"第2の物体"の移動が検出され、且つ、"第1の物体"と"第2の物体"とが同じものである場合に、"第1の物体"を"移動物体"として特定する。【選択図】図1 |
