To provide a transfer device which can prevent co-rotation of a transfer belt with respect to the rotation of a transfer cylinder in a time other than the time of image formation in such a structure that the transfer cylinder rotates in conjunction with a fixation roll.SOLUTION: A transfer device comprises: a transfer cylinder which rotates in conjunction with a fixation roll; a transfer belt which transfers an image to a medium while co-rotating with the transfer cylinder in a state of holding the medium with the transfer cylinder; a pressing member which is arranged in the transfer belt; and switching means which switches between the pressing state in which the pressing member is moved and the transfer belt is pressed against the transfer cylinder and the separation state in which the transfer belt is separated from the transfer cylinder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】転写胴が定着ロールに連動して回転する構成において、画像形成時以外における転写胴の回転に対する転写ベルトの連れ回りを防ぐことができる転写装置を得ること。【解決手段】定着ロールに連動して回転する転写胴と、前記転写胴とで媒体を挟んだ状態で前記転写胴に連れ回りながら前記媒体に画像を転写する転写ベルトと、前記転写ベルトの内側に配置された押付部材と、前記押付部材を移動させ、前記転写ベルトを前記転写胴に押し付ける押付状態と、前記転写ベルトを前記転写胴から離間している離間状態とに切り替える切替手段と、を備える転写装置。【選択図】図３
