To provide an electromagnetic contactor capable of preventing intrusion of foreign matters such as metal wear powder generated on a contact point into a sliding portion of a movable plunger.SOLUTION: An electromagnet unit 3 in an electromagnetic contactor 1 includes: a movable plunger 21 for driving a movable contact 13; a contact support 14 for supporting the movable contact 13 and connected to the movable plunger 21; and a spool 24, the spool 24 having a body portion 24a that surrounds an outer circumference of the movable plunger 21 and is wound with an excitation coil 25, and a contact support surrounding portion 24d that surrounds an outer circumference of the contact support 14.
