To restrain wear of regulating members or an external gear.SOLUTION: A deflection engagement type gear device 1 comprises: a vibrating body 30A; an external gear 35 deflected and deformed by the vibrating body; internal gears 411 and 421 engaged with the external gear; and regulating members 51 and 52 opposed to the external gear in an axial direction, and for regulating axial movement of the external gear. The regulating members comprise: a main body part 521 in contact with the external gear in the axial direction; and an outside part 522 located outside the main body in a radial direction, and opposed to a tooth bottom 331 and a tooth tip 332 of the external gear in the axial direction.
