Summary:To provide a method of inserting a heat insulator, capable of curbing damage to a furnace wall and a furnace bottom when hot-repairing a whole coke oven.SOLUTION: A method of inserting a heat insulator comprises a preparation step (#5), a temporary installation step (#10), a disposing step (#15), a connection step (#20), an installation step (#25), and an insertion step (#30). In the preparation step (#5), a carriage (10) including a temporary hanging rail (13) and a guide member (15) is prepared, and a heat insulator (18) and a hanging-down rail (14) are prepared. In the temporary installation step (#10), the hanging-down rail (14) is mounted on the carriage (10). The guide member (15) restricts a movement of the hanging-down rail (14) in a width direction. In the installation step (#25), a first wire (20) and plural second wires (21) are pulled, and the hanging-down rail (14) is fixed at the same height as the temporary hanging rail (13).
