A catalyst for olefinic polymerization is produced by bringing the metallocene compound (component (A)) into contact with a compound (component (B)) that reacts with the component (A) to form a cationic metallocene compound, with a particulate carrier (component (C)), and further optionally with an organic aluminum compound (component (D)).SELECTED DRAWING: None
