Summary:To provide a motor unit capable of preventing foreign matters of welding sputtering from entering inside a motor and of suppressing increase in size of the entire unit, in a motor unit with a controller integrated to one side i an axial direction of a motor part.SOLUTION: A motor unit 1 comprises: a motor part 3 that has a rotor 20, and a stator 30 including a motor terminal 53; a housing 11 that accommodates the motor part; and a controller 5 located at one side in an axial direction. The controller has: a substrate 66 connected to the motor terminal via a substrate terminal 51; and a cover 70 that surrounds a substrate accommodation space K2 for accommodating the substrate together with the housing. A flat plate part 72 of the cover has: a flat plate main body part 72a; and a step part 73 located closer to another side in the axial direction than the flat plate main body part. The step part is provided with a through-hole 77 penetrating in the axial direction.
