Summary:To provide a connector and a connector assembly capable of fitting with a mating connector while reducing insertion force of a plurality of mating contacts and absorbing positional deviation from the mating connector.SOLUTION: In a plurality of relay contacts 61 movably held in a second insulator 31, tips of connection portions 42 of fixed contacts 41U and 41L, which are in contact with second contact portions 66 respectively, come into contact with receiving surfaces 67, and thereby the tips are restricted from moving toward the fixed contacts along a mating direction.
