Summary:To provide a small-sized and light-weight automated external defibrillator becoming available within a short time.SOLUTION: An automated external defibrillator 1A comprising an electrode pad 30A, an electrode pad 30B, a power supply part 19, and a high voltage generating part 16A is provided. The high voltage generating part 16A includes a transformer 160 formed of a primary-side coil 160a, a secondary-side coil 160b, and a core around which the primary-side coil 160a and the secondary-side coil 160b are wound. One end of the secondary-side coil 160b is connected to the electrode pad 30A and the other end is connected to the electrode pad 30B. The primary-side coil 160a is connected to the power supply part 19.
