Summary:To provide a fuel loading method which can secure thermal allowance while suppressing output increase of a new type fuel assembly increasing a heavy metal weight including uranium, plutonium and minor actinide, in a transition core in transition to the new type fuel assembly from an old type fuel assembly, and a core using the same.SOLUTION: In a fuel loading method in transition to a second fuel assembly increasing a heavy metal weight including uranium, plutonium and minor actinide from a first fuel assembly, in the case where all the fuel assemblies loaded in a region excluding a core outermost periphery in an N-th operation cycle are the first fuel assembly, and all the fuel assemblies loaded in a region excluding the core outermost periphery in an N+m (m>1) operation cycle is the second fuel assembly, when a difference between the number of new loaded bodies of the N-th operation cycle and the number of new loaded bodies of the N+m cycle is X, a first fuel assembly X-body as a new fuel of the N+1 cycle is loaded in a core central part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】旧型燃料集合体から、ウラン、プルトニウム、及びマイナーアクチニドを含む重金属重量を増大した新型燃料集合体へ移行する際の移行炉心において、新型燃料集合体の出力増大を抑制しつつ、熱的余裕を確保し得る燃料装荷方法とそれを用いた炉心を提供する。【解決手段】第一燃料集合体から、ウラン、プルトニウム、及びマイナーアクチニドを含む重金属重量が増大する第二燃料集合体へ移行する際の燃料装荷方法は、第N運転サイクルにおける炉心最外周を除く領域に装荷された全ての燃料集合体は第一燃料集合体であり、第N+m(m>1)運転サイクルにおける炉心最外周を除く領域に装荷された全ての燃料集合体が第二燃料集合体となる場合、第N運転サイクルの新規装荷体数と、第N+mサイクルの新規装荷体数の差がXのとき、第N+1サイクルの新規燃料として第一燃料集合体X体を炉心中央部に装荷する。【選択図】 図1
