Summary:To provide a communication system, a communication device, a program, and a transmission method that can mitigate burden of a work that makes a specific terminal device execute an instruction of control for the communication device.SOLUTION: A portable terminal device 10 of a printing system 1 transmits a communication start notification that has NFC system short-range radio communication between a short-distance communication part 13 and a short-distance communication part 21 executed(S18). A printer 20 transmits WFD authentication information and a printer's one time token PWT used for connection of a Wi-Fi Direct(R) in response to the processing at S18 from the short-distance communication part 21 to the short-distance communication part 13 via NFC communication (S21). The portable terminal device 10 transmits connection information of a router 2 from an external communication part 16 to an external communication part 22 via WFD communication using WFD authentication information acquired at S21 (S27).
